ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP OPEN CALL

Throughline Collective is now accepting applications for new artist memberships! Applications are due by 11:59 p.m. Friday, August 16, and your application will be kept on file for one year. Currently, one membership is available and will go into effect on September 1. If you are not selected this round, but another membership becomes available, your application will be reviewed again.

Throughline is an artist-run space that is home to a collective of accomplished and dedicated local artists. Located at 3909 Main Street in the heart of Houston, Throughline hosts a robust calendar of exhibitions, educational programs, and cooperative partnerships with diverse organizations. By providing a supportive environment for artists to showcase their work outside the traditional gallery system, Throughline’s culture empowers artists to develop and push their creative and professional ambitions, and to challenge convention through experimental and collaborative artworks and happenings.

Once per exhibition cycle, Throughline artists create a two-person, four-week exhibition in collaboration with another collective member in our gallery space. They may show their own work, or curate a unique exhibition, and are encouraged to create programming such as artist talks or performances throughout their exhibition run. Additionally, member artists may sell their work in the gallery store for 100% of their sales and are eligible for occasional special group exhibition opportunities through the collective. Members must pay monthly dues of $125, are expected to contribute time to gallery operations and committee efforts, and must make the effort to attend monthly meetings.
