About

Throughline is proud to present Volume 2: RUN, its second group exhibition. Featuring work from the second half of Throughline’s 20 member roster, RUN reinforces the spirit of the new collective introduced in its previous inaugural exhibition, Volume 1: RISE, one that fosters diversity,  experimentation, and collaboration.

“Throughline is a community,” says member Cindee Klement. “Joining Throughline has connected me with talented artists from diverse backgrounds. These connections and collaborations will foster groundbreaking  ideas and projects while expanding my artistic perspective.” In fact, Throughline fits into a long-established tradition of thriving artist co-ops in Houston, as member Garland Fielder points out. “I was a part of Commerce  Street Artist Warehouse back when I got out of graduate school. I see this collective as continuing in that spirit.”

Member Carolina Otero envisions great possibilities for community outreach through workshops, discussions,  seminars, and exhibitions with other artists and creative thinkers in Houston and beyond. “We could coordinate  multidisciplinary events, and ultimately, foster the creation of other collectives as well.”
